EMI唱片對 The Verve的介紹：
1990年，Verve於英國西北部Lancashire郡的Wigan組隊，Richard、Pete、Simon在就讀Upholland高校時結為好友，隨後找來唸Winstanley大學的Nick組團，The Verve展開駐唱後旋即獲得傳媒青睞，紛紛以驚人、不朽等字眼來形容樂團的現場功力，在好評嘉勉聲中，更堅定了Verve發表專輯的決心。91年9月，Verve與Hut Recordings廠牌簽約，92年初展身手就以"All In The Mind"、"She's A Superstar"、"Gravity Grave"等3首單曲搶下獨立榜的龍頭，93年5月，Verve前進美國，應邀擔任The Black Crowes樂團的巡迴演唱開場，同時也發表另一首單曲"Blue"，同年6月，Verve發行首張專輯「A Storm In Heaven」，此張作品推出後深獲樂界側目，英國樂評激賞為'90年代的迷幻搖滾新經典'，94年對Verve而言可說是麻煩連連的一年，首先樂團在參加Lollapalooza音樂祭時陷入混亂的局面，再來是在美國爵士名廠Verve的抗議下，樂團被迫要在團名前冠上The，正名為The Verve後，樂團與製作名匠Owen Morris合作第2張專輯「A Northern Soul」，專輯融合了剛強、脆弱、濃烈、生動、傷感氛圍、旋律性、自由性格等特質，英國傳媒再度抱以熱烈喝采，推崇The Verve為90年代的搖滾樂留下傲人的風采，Richard自承這是一張串連了痛苦、雀躍、性慾、迷失、浪漫等情緒的專輯，一張發自靈魂、植入人心的專輯，專輯中的"This Is Music"、"On Your Own"紛紛在95年夏季攻進英國金榜TOP 40。在經歷散攤傳聞後，97年，The Verve在加入新團員Simon Tong後重新出發，再度以專輯「Urban Hymns」震撼全英，專輯與單曲"Bitter Sweet Symphony"、"The Drugs Don't Work"在英國金榜上駐留超過一年以上，此張與Youth、Chris Potter等製作高手合作的專輯不僅再次入選年度最佳專輯，更為90年代的英國搖滾豎立了全新的里程碑，同時也為樂團拿下成軍以來的首張英國金榜冠軍專輯成績，樂團隨後也在Reading音樂祭中激盪超強的搖滾能量與搖滾熱情，就在攀登顛峰之際，樂團卻在98年4月發布了解散的消息，讓樂界與樂迷深感惋惜。
